Thoracic (Mid Back) Pain
- Can be an acute episode such as coughing or sneezing
- Lifting
- Twisting
- Being hugged too hard
- Can be a chronic condition from age related osteoarthritis, earlier injuries including rib injuries, metabolic bone conditions or poor posture
- Thoracic pain can be confined just to the thoracic area. It can cause many other symptoms which will list below. Also, the below symptoms can be thoracic related WITHOUT having thoracic back pain.
- Can cause pain between the shoulders
- Can cause pain around your side (between your armpit and hip)
- Can cause chest pain
- Can cause breathing difficulties such as shortness of breath
- Back pain (lumbar spine) or lower back pain
- Can be acute from lifting, bending, twisting, jumping or falling
- Can be chronic from osteoarthritis (age related or old injury)
- Many years of sitting for long periods of time either at a desk or in a car or truck seat
- Many years of hard work where there was repetitive bending or lifting
- Poor posture
